A friend of mine has a wonderful philosophy for buying art. He only buys art when he can see/feel that the artist had a personal interest about the subject of that work of art. This way the work of art becomes special to him.

On computers: I always say to people Learning how to use a computer isn't the problem, it is learning how to untangle the problem it gets into that takes so much time and energy.

When we view a picture or read a book, we are allowing those impressions to take up residence within ourselves. Let us then be discriminating as to what we allow to come into us so that we may remain clean inside.
