ANN SPAULDING is a native and resident of Northern California. She attended the California College of Arts and Crafts, in
Oakland, California. Her formal realist training was obtained in the Atelier of David Hardy, also of Oakland. She has felt
the desire, since she was a little girl, to be an artist and has been drawing and painting ever since. Her interest has been
to portray beauty, whether it be a landscape, a figure or the fine craftsmanship, color and texture of the created things
in her still-life's. She taught the fundamentals of art in a small private school in Oakland, and has had private adult students
as well. She feels that truth and beauty is coming back onto the art stage and happily sees a resurgence of realist artists
in this day. Academic training is the tool to the creation of fine art, as it is to fine music. It enables one to be free
to present to others the beauty which one feels and is stored up in the depths of one's self. She has exhibited in various
shows around Oakland and is affiliated with the CCAL Gallery in Modesto, California. Her art work is found in various collections
around the U.S.
